Now accepting applications for Peru 2014 Deployment

Firefighters Without Borders Canada is now accepting applications from fire service personnel interested in participating in the delivery of training to emergency services personnel in Peru.

FWBC is a registered charity operating from within Canada to provide support to emergency service organizations in countries with a demonstrated need. Our goal is to provide a “helping hand up” to these organizations so that they can provide a higher level of emergency services to their communities.

We currently have an opportunity for highly motivated individuals to participate in a deployment to Peru from Monday, March 31, 2014 – Sunday April 13, 2014.

A wide variety of fire service topics will be delivered during these deployments including but not limited to: Auto Extrication; Basic Hose & Ladder Evolutions; EMS & First Aid; Fireground Safety & Tactics; Fleet Maintenance; HazMat; Incident Command; RIT; Technical Rescue, and Fire Service programs.

Participants must be prepared to:

  • Adhere to FWBC policies & procedures, as well as their own Fire Department code of conduct at all times.
  • Accept responsibility for the cost of their own airfare (accommodation, ground transportation & meals provided).
  • Follow a prescribed training program as outlined by FWBC.
  • Operate under the direction of FWBC representatives.
  • Become an active member in good standing of FWBC.
  • Become an active volunteer within FWBC furthering the organizations’ ablity to provide aid to emergency services personnel in need.

 

Priority will be given to active FWBC members who have deployed with the organization in the past or who have been involved in organization activities over the past fiscal year.

Applications for all must be received no later than January 15, 2014.

2)         Short resume describing relevant experience.

3)         Work Reference (name & contact info). This reference must be either: a)an  elected official from your IAFF Local, or b) a Chief Officer from your Fire Department.
